YOU can pay much less or zero for prescription drugs by eating real food

(Ron D. Garrett) #1

It doesn’t take politicians, or the media addressing it, or much to “lower or reduce” the cost of the prescription drugs that you take or will take. EAT REAL FOOD, sleep, exercise, reduce sugar and carbs, etc., and you can lower and in many cases COMPLETELY bring the cost that you spend down to ZERO!!! Don’t be fooled by these “news reports” that want you to be mad at the straw man that is “Pharma” (they make many good meds that are necessary) when you can actually take the baton into your own hands and run with it to the finish line yourself BY EATING REAL FOOD!! Ron “Big Black” Garrett

Btw…I went from an approximate cost of well over $3600 for the cost of meds (and was going to climb as they were going to put me on meds for diabetes and cholesterol) down to currently less that $200 per annum currently and that only because my doc won’t take me off of my BP meds until it is under control for at least a year. #ketogenicdiet #ketogenicathlete #keto #ronbigblackgarrett #lchf

Was looking at this chart on Virta’s site and what is so incredible is the cost of fat compared to Diabetic meds, look at that chart?

What is lowering blood insulin? _____.

How neat is that?

Maintenance?

Type of Fat?

Most medications are free or $5 for me, but I’m happy enough to just be healthy and not take the ones I truly don’t need!

I 100% agree… when I see stories about people that died because they couldn’t afford their meds… It’s crazy to me that no one considers the fact that they also died because they didn’t take care of them self. Especially all these recent post about diabetes. If they went keto it would be much cheaper and they would be much healthier and not die… for me I’ve noticed my mood has increased significantly since I started this high-fat diet and I haven’t had to take psyc meds for a while… it’s crazy to me all the different ways insulin resistance can manifest… but I guess everyone has to live their own life… some people learn from others and some like to do it the hard way

Preach brother! :sunglasses:

Sums it up right there. It’s easy to point our finger at the “evil corporate greed” thing and forget the fact that we need to start eating well out of responsibility to ourselves, and the issues we create for ourselves mostly gave Pharma a way into our lives. Sure we have been mislead and science is always changing it’s view on what’s healthy. But I know I could have done a lot better when I was younger and I knew stuff that I did was cautioned against. We are capable of choices good and bad, and their consequences come along for the ride. :cowboy_hat_face:

Ah, but there’s the rub—if you believe the government and do what it recommends as “eating well,” you will get sick. Not everyone is fortunate enough to know that keto is the true “eating well.” :bacon::bacon::bacon:

@PaulL True, but I think most people know fresh home cooked food is better for you than frozen Stouffer’s or Marie Calander dinners. And eating lots of chips, candy and soda pop too. Even I knew that much as a 20 year old in the 70’s. I never really looked at the food pyramid back then, I remember being shown it at school. But seriously who actually looked at government recommendations and tried to follow them. Maybe 2% of Americans? I’m not saying it’s all our fault but certainly some people seem to have done better than others. I could have done better and I knew it. I chalk it up to Youth Immortality Syndrome. :cowboy_hat_face:

Amen!!

I think that I postulated to that fact. I still take BP meds myself though I suspect those are about to go also very soon. I’m glad that we have medicines BUT they are way overused when eating better can fix a lot of issues. Many of the docs find it easier to prescribe medicine due to their patient loads and because they have been taught to. My friends in that field have postulated as such but they can get into trouble for advocating lchf/KETO YET few see the conflict of prescribing meds that the drug companies push and getting paid to do so which is a conflict of interest. Thank you!
