Yo yoing risk?

Hi all can i ask is there any consensus on the net negative/positive when yo yoing in and out of ketosis? I ask this because i wod love to include oats in my food platter. I love keto and the foods are perfect for me but id love some porridge here and there but obviously this will kick me out of ketosis. Id be eating high fat still all week aside from dipping out with the oats but im concerned this is dangerous?

No, not dangerous. It is called metabolic flexibility. If you want weight loss it will slow you down, but not dangerous.

How long have you been keto adapted?
2 years into keto I began incorporating refeeds in order to get out of a long stall and lower my body fat percentage. That being said, I only did a carb refeed once a week. Not only did this work amazingly and broke my stall by increasing leptin, but it broke the monotony of my diet and allowed certain things I had been craving. It is a slippery slope though. The longer you’ve been keto adapted the easier it is for your body to, as someone else said, be flexible with eating slightly more carbs, but not consistently. So if those oats can be a treat on a weekly basis while going back on keto then that may help squash your cravings without adversely affecting your progress, but I do not recommend this unless you’re in maintenance or very close to your goal and stalling.

Are you on maintenance or still trying to lose weight? Fat adapted?

My husband and I are both in maintenance and once every 2 weeks I make sourdough waffles with the starter in my fridge. No weight gain. Kicks us out of ketosis for a day. No biggie. It is planned and not an excuse to binge on carbs.
