World Obesity Day

This is a twitter post from the deputy leader of the UK Labour Party. He’s lost over 6 stone (86lbs) on keto. A great ambassador for us.
I hope I’ve done this right

Some idiot politician is bound to mark #WorldObesityDay by demanding people take personal responsibility. But if you don’t know what’s in your food how can you take responsibility? It’s time to stop the shaming, and give people the info they need. Let’s label products not people.

I vote for a name change to #WorldKetoDay

Obesity warning labels?

Maybe something like this:

PRODUCT WARNING: THE INGREDIENTS IN THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN SHOWN TO CAUSE OBESITY IN EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDIES OF HUMAN AND ANIMAL MODELS.

There are warning labels on tobacco products and people still use those. :frowning:

Health care tax with warning on tobacco, but the money always seems to get diverted (USA) or “appropriated” to something that has nothing to do with health care? …Sad!

The first time I heard about the idea of a sugar tax, on soft drinks, I scoffed, but now that I don’t drink them I don’t care. Tax away!

There are a couple of places that have an extra soda tax. And I believe NY has a limit on how many ounces of soda people can purchase at a time.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #8

That was thrown out by the courts, alas.

I’ve been ambivalent toward the idea of a sugar tax since I don’t eat any, but I should have known it’s just the beginning.

I repent. No sugar tax!
