Will you eat like this forever?

I’m coming up on 3 months of keto and I don’t see myself stopping. I don’t feel like i am missing out on anything by eating this way so why stop?

Yup!

I hope to! Through some sheer luck and bewilderment, I got tossed into the keto lifestyle through my husband and it’s greatly helped my health, my moods and my general outlook. I actually didn’t know he was in ketosis at all when we were dating for two years. When I finally found out I nearly died because it explained so much that was so weird in our relationship. I couldn’t believe he felt he had to hide it from me for so long. He was afraid of judgment I think because he started it in a time when there was no keto lifestyle at all and no one knew about it.

I feel happy and healthy, and we are closer as a couple than ever. I don’t shy away from being clear about what I can and can’t eat at restaurants or at family events etc. He is more shy about it but I’m not and happily talk about it and I pack all our meals if we go away and we’ve recently started dehydrating keto meals for camping. Sometimes we get weird looks but that’s okay. I don’t mind. I’m due for a dr check up and blood test soon where he does it every six months to make sure all his bloodwork, cholesterol, hormone levels etc are where it should be. So far for him 10 years in, looking better than all his years not on keto. We are very grateful.

I found the following article very fasinating.

Darren, thank you for mentioning that article - an interesting read indeed.

Forever is, hopefully, a pretty long time. Could something change over the course of my forever? I suppose.

In general, I’m liking where the low-carb / keto way of eating has taken my life. I don’t find that I’m suffering by not being able to eat a lot of carbage. I eat very well and I enjoy what I eat.

Do I sometimes eat a little potato or rice or pasta or bread or some fruit? Maybe a little, not much, and not often. Do I sometimes eat veggies with a little higher carb count, like carrots? Occasionally. I don’t have plans to change that.

Whether I stick with this way of eating indefinitely or not, I have every intention of doing the best that I can to make sure the things that I eat are of good quality. That’s something I think matters and it’s something that some of my friends in the paleo community have stressed that I appreciate.

Whether my forever is many years or just a few short days, I’m continuing to eat well today, which is the first day of the rest of my life.
