Why am I SO freaking hungry?

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #22

Not necessarily. I lost the link, but I recently read a paper showing that daily hunger and energy need don’t usually match all that well from day to day, but that summed over any given seven- or eight-day period, they match pretty precisely.

I have this too (I am a woman too but I have still fat to lose). I find this natural, we are not robots, sometimes we need more - or not, we just eat differently and our bodies aren’t satisfied despite we eat enough calories…
I know I need my protein (I would be in huge trouble below 70-80g), fat can’t make me full for long. But even using the same macros, there are differences. Nuts satiate me way worse than eggs and I’ve read many people are the same.
Number and time of meals make a huge difference for many of us. And of course, it might matter how we ate in the previous days… When I eat a bit little for a while, a higher-calorie day always happens due to unusual hunger.
And there are probably zillion things affecting hunger… We all know most women are different on their period, sleep and stress were mentioned too. There are surely other things. Hunger and satiation signs are sometimes unreliable and in some cases one should focus on other signs in order to figure out when and how much to eat. We humans just can’t be simple…

Is because of this:

Your weight is normal so your going to eat out of instinct to maintain that?

…that’s because you are starving?

Your in excellent shape! :ok_hand:

I have days like that too. Go with it.

1500 seems low (just a guess), so I recommend trying an increase like @RobC suggested.

This happens to me too. I will feel totally fine day-to-day but then I will have my days where I am ravenous, and I am always wondering, “Where did that come from!?”

One thing to try is to start your meal with fat first, that way your body has the time to break it down and you can feel it sooner–it might help with satiety. Also, carbohydrates usually do not help with satiety, so on the days that you do feel extra hungry, get your extra intake from fatty meat because fat and protein are more satiating (one might be more than the other for you, it seems to differ from person to person).

Just some suggestions from a non-medical specialist. :woman_shrugging:
