Why am I not "using" my ketones?

I am 9 months in (down 70 lbs.) but a little concerned because I still have light to moderate ketones in my urine. From what I’ve read I should be adapted enough to be using them and not spilling them by now. Could this explain why I’ve never experienced the cognitive benefits that so many people rave about? I am homozygous MTHFR, could this be part of the issue?

If you’re staying below 20g’s of carbs a day, your body has to be using ketones or you wouldn’t be functioning.
Everyone is different. You could take two people identical in weight and height, feed them the same diet and they will produce different amounts of ketones.
It’s likely you are just producing on the high side and it’s more than your body needs. It’s really not that big of a deal.
