Who’s going to Low Carb Breck?

(Erin Macfarland ) #1

Anyone planning on going to low carb Breck? I live in the Denver area and would love to see if people want to meet up there, maybe share lodging!

I’m just going to sign up for the videos. I know they will be on Youtube after a while. But I really enjoyed listening to them during the conference period.

Have a great time if you do go.

Don’t think I could afford it, but I’d love to go. Is there a Web site where I could check the price?

Lots of information here:

Thanks so much for the link! I’m drooling, but the cost plus airfare is beyond me at the moment; paying for the live feed is more my speed. Guess I’ll have to wait for the next Ketofest to meet people IRL.

I’m thinking I would prefer a ketofest by the sea, than a conference in the mountains. I am less than 2 hrs. from Breckenridge, but in snow season, it could take a lot more hours to get there. I really am a beach bum at heart. Always ready for a seaside trip, mountains not so much.

I’m thinking about it, but lodging prices at the ski resort during ski season are a bit on the high side for me. Wish they would have held this meeting during the summer months. I’m thinking about maybe staying at one of the casino hotels in Black Hawk/Central City (price appears to be ~ $200/night cheaper) and driving each day to the conference.

Erin, have you found lodging? I am exploring options now… frikkin expensive, not surprising but still!! Thinking of renting an airbnb and opening it up to last minute (non-scary) ‘planners’ like me. Will be attending with a friend who is a total newbie to this, we’re both medical professionals. I’ve been keto since May 17. -Karen

I have a spot in the house that @kim has rented out, I will probably only stay two nights, Wednesday and Thursday so if you are interested in seeing if you could stay Friday and Saturday you might want to reach out to her :slight_smile:

Thank you, will do! Do you live in Denver? I am moving there in a couple weeks, just before Breck. Excited!

Yes I live in Highlands Ranch !

You can also try hotels in Frisco and Silverthorne CO.

One item I noted at the Doubletree hotel (where the conference is hosted) in Breckenridge was they only have valet parking (at an additional cost of $39/night)

I believe the is some type of free bus service in the Breckenridge/Frisco/Silverthorne area. I noted this in one of the hotel descriptions (which is located in Silverthorne);

Free Summit County bus stop located onsite.

I am happy to report that we have a place to stay, in Avon which is about a 35 minute drive away, at a friends of a friend I’m going with.
