Where have you been all my life?

food

I was lucky enough to be able to actually stop & shop in my favorite online Amish Outfitter place when I was on vacation in Sept. I’ve made amazing small batch butter with this.

Adding roasted garlic with homegrown Rosemary…

Thank you!

And buttermilk?

Buttermilk is what’s leftover when you churn cream into butter. I can’t stand the stuff by itself, but it has many uses in the culinary world… like making ranch dressing or for a marinade to tenderize chicken or pork.

I got goosebumps from this picture

For ranch dressing, I will do 1 cup mayo to 1/2 cup sour cream and 1/2 cup buttermilk, but you can do 1cup + 1cup without sour cream if you prefer. I also add chopped green onion, a splash of red wine vinegar, black pepper and some grated parm cheese to mine… and of course dry ranch seasoning.

Don’t they look amazing? I think I have a fetish for looking at steaks. I was in a butcher shop the other day and I couldn’t buy anything because I wasn’t going home for 4-5 more hours. I’m just looking at everything in the counter window and the woman behind it asks if I need anything today? I said "No thank you… I’m just admiring.
