Where can I use MCT oil?

Besides my coffee ? I have my coffee dialed in ! 22oz of double strength from a premium blend… Usually some combination of Gevallia, Pete’s, or Seattle’s Best… + 1/2 tsp of Maple extract, 1 tsp of real vanilla extract, and 8 drops of Sucralose. Bam ! Perfect. Don’t want to screw this up :slightly_smiling_face:

Now, I guess I could just chug a swallow or two of MCT oil… Because I know I’m not supposed to cook with it. But is their anything else I can mix it with ?

You can add it to your mayo, to bone broth, you can add it to an oil and vinegar salad dressing…

I’m actually making home made mayo tomorrow, and that will be for a couple big Chuck roast sandwiches which will be my entire weekend food intake… So that will be perfect :slightly_smiling_face: Thank you for that excellent suggestion :slightly_smiling_face:

You can replace a little or a lot of the other oil with the MCT oil. I tend to be a little cautious as it can cause some… gastric distress.

You’re not supposed to cook with it?
:fearful:
I put it in my scrambled eggs before I cooked them.
I take 1 teaspoon each in 3 cups of tea in the am, and 1 teaspoon with my evening meal which is around 5. This seems to keep me in good cognition with no gastric issues.
I wouldn’t “chug” it. :poop:
But that’s me.

MCT oil (which usually contains mostly C8/C10 fractions) has a fairly low smoke point so I wouldn’t use it for anything high-temp, though briefly and lightly sautéing might be okay. But it’s not the same as solid coconut oil which has a lot more lauric acid (C12) and therefore a comparatively higher smoke point.

I added it to heavy cream once… And whipped it… Came out like butter in short order

Yea, I had read it is not good to cook with… But what’s the problem with putting a shot in your eggs after cooking ? I bet I could put a couple tablespoons and not even notice it mixed with the half stick of butter I cook the rest of my breakfast with :slightly_smiling_face:

Mud butt for sure with me.

Well, I’m not trying to jinx myself, but I don’t think I’ve had diarhea (at least the uncontrollable, having to run to the bathroom type) in 10 years. With myself, my digestion issues tend to go the other direction. Sometimes, loosening my stomach up might be a good thing…

Ah. You mean like using it as “cooking oil”.
Yeah, no.
I just add it to the eggs/chives/parsley/psyllium husk/S&P before cooking, frappe the crap out of the whole mixture with the hand-blender, then scramble in a cast-iron pan with plenty of Avo-Oil and Butter - and add 2 Tablespoons of HWC just before it’s done (Gordon Ramsey trick). My Scrambled eggs are Awesome!

@FishChris Try this. Add:
1/2 tsp. Dried Parsley
1 tsp. Dried Chives
1/2 tsp. Psyllium Husks
1/8 tsp. each Lite Salt and Black Pepper
to
2 Eggs
Scramble, but add:
2 Tblsp. Heavy Whipping Cream just before they are done and finish scrambling. Then turn out onto the plate after the cream evaporates. The cream prevents overcooking/burning. The Psyllium Husks are for the fiber content. They only add a little more body to the finished product. Entirely undetectable. They are dreamy.

If you’re worried about your perfected coffee recipe, I can’t recall it having much of a taste at all so you could probably add it and not tell any difference…except a little bit of oily feel on your lips.
