When will the media stop this?

I know the Daily Mail is not exactly the pinnacle of journalistic merit but still…
:frowning:

By my count, this is the fourth thread on this article. Admins?

(Ellie) #3

Oops sorry. I hunted around but obviously not in the right places

That’s ok Paul, I don’t mind seeing things in several places or more than one thread about something. I haven’t seen it. Having it in multiple locations makes it more and more likely to get seen. :sunglasses:

Whereas I go crazy trying to keep up with the multiple threads, lol! Ah, well . . .

[emily litella: on]Never mind![emily litella: off] :grinning:

I did too for a while. Then I realized how many there were! So now I just try to hit the ones that pique my interest.

BTW, that site the link led to is nothing but click bait. Any site set up as that one is should only be considered as click bait. Equal in the big scheme of things as nothing more than spam. The sheer number of adds in the middle of the article is ridiculous.

Then I tried to comment. I made a 5 sentence paragraph (so that should tell you that I put some effort into it to keep it short ) only to be told I had to have an account with them to post it . Yet another scheme in the tool kit of the spammer.

That site is nowhere near the pinnacle like you stated. It’s at the other end of the spectrum.

Very true, unfortunately it is the most read online newspaper, and actual newspaper, in the UK. Utter rubbish almost all the time, but it is scary that this information can be so wrong and so widely spread. No wonder the general population is misinformed.

Most news organizations to me are unreliable to pay attention to anyway. From ABC to Fox to CNN. They all have their bias now. I’ve even heard them all repeatedly say “make the news” instead of report the news. I’ve also heard them say, and I’m not kidding here, “our job is to scare you to death”. Wtf? How about just report the facts? Let me decide IF I should be scared. Don’t sweeten the audio. Don’t zoom in on some protest consisting of 100 people in a cramped room and say there were 10’s of thousands. As well as picking a shot of some huge protest that has maybe 10 people in a field, making it look as if not many showed. It goes both ways. Just show the truth. Let the truth speak for itself. I have little trust of politicians or the news media, or the need of either. (That last line sounded a bit like Mark Twain :sunglasses:)

Loks like most of the comments are better informed than the article itself… my faith is somewhat restored in my fellow countrymen and women…

Which for Daily fail comments is unheard of!!

Do we have a point by point rebuttal here on the site? Would love to see that.
