When do you stop loosing weight

Do you keep loosing weight on keto or like when does it end . I used to weigh 184. I’m 5,5 , 24 year old female I now weigh 164 I’m wondering when i will just stop loosing weight. I’m not complaining I’m just curious . I mean like 5 years ago I was in the 120 -130 range I’m just wondering what the cut off is or like how it works for you to just maintain the weight and not loose anymore . I want to loose as much as possible. It would be great to be 130 again just don’t know if it’s possible

I’m pretty sure this is an N=1, you’re gonna have to wait and see!

I don’t really lose on satiation keto anymore, I maintain around 124 (5’1"). If I want to lose, I fast for a few days. That seems to drop my maintenance weight by about a pound, so I’m slowly ratcheting down (and hopefully having a slightly lower satiety point with each pound gone, so they don’t come back.)

Karen is right. A perfect place for the mantra “keep calm, and keto on”. Modern society is trained to want instant satisfaction. We have become addicted to the constant dopamine “hits” cell phones and social media give us.

A perspective of long term health as opposed to short term weight loss would be very emotionally healthy I think.

As an aside, you cant ‘loose’ weight. But you can ‘lose’ weight.

I’m a male unicorn, but at 6ft around 140lbs, my body has decided this is where it’s pretty comfortable at. I do a couple days fasting each month during the Zornfast, and will get down to 136. Refeed brings those couple lbs back, but weight loss is no longer a goal since I’m 20lbs lower than my weight goal.

That’s a question I’ve thought a lot about. I overshot my weight loss by 10 lbs when i started bc i was so into it. Then i picked a number- 160 and found that easy to maintain. Since then i relaxed a bit more and I’ve been maintaing pretty easily at 161. My point is- it’s probably best if we let our bodies tell us where we should be rather than shoot for a specific number. Google or search here “Phinney weight” for a nice easy description. Good job on the current weight loss! :grinning:

I think we tend to focus too much on weight. Our total body weight consists of fat, muscle, bone, connective tissue, organs, and water. Of those, we only want to lose fat.

I think we’d be much better off focusing on % body fat. This is especially true for folks who aren’t “overweight”. Personally, as a female, I’d rather be 150 lbs with 18% body fat than 120 with 30%.
