would the deli meat not cause you to retain water and thus ‘appear’ a gain on the scale as well as possible bloat?

I simply blanch white cabbage leaves and drain them well, and then layer up my lasagne starting with a layer of meat sauce, then cabbage leaves, then slices of mozzarella, then meat sauce etc etc - and then for the sauce on top I whizz up cooked cauliflower with a load of cheese and seasonings.
I cook it until it’s caramelised and the mozz/cabbage layer combo goes slightly chewy - I don’t miss pasta sheets at all!!!

Ooooooooh good idea - and not so much ‘reformatting’ of leaves required… cabbage leaves are a bummer of a jigsaw!

My wife has made a version with thin zucchini strips in place of the wheat noodles… it’s good!
