What's your Summer drink?

(Ellen) #1

Am sat in the garden with a glass of fizzy water with lemon juice, in days of old it would have been a couple of 4 packs of lager, so just wondering what your refreshing Summer drinks (boozy or not) are?

Seltzer, lime wedge.

Jazzed up keto-ade: seltzer, splash of lemon, dash of potassium, sodium and magnesium. Takes a bit to get used to a fizzy lemon drink being salty, but now I like it. On the rare occasions I still drink alcohol, I’ll take out the salt, add a drop or two of stevia and a shot of vodka.

I think seltzer is the US version of sparkling water??? Always a good start for something refreshing.

Yes. Although I think club soda , which is different, has salt?

I’ve discovered soda water in the UK; which isn’t as fizzy as sparkling water. Slice of lime/lemon; no longer interested in diet coke  but still love G&T(sugar free obviously

In the U.S., “sparkling water” tends to mean brand-name mineral waters, such as Spa, Perrier, and the like, whereas “Seltzer” means simply water plus carbonation. “Club soda” is also carbonated water, but with a bit of added salt (I’m not sure why, because you can’t taste it), as Karen mentioned.
