Good morning beautiful people!

First off i’d like to say that for the short time i’ve been apart of this forum that its really brought some new light to me on Keto and kind of brings me back to the day when I checked the scale and lost my first 5lbs on the diet and for that i thank you!

Basically i want to ask for advice and maybe secrets you have when eating out at restaurants or sports bars. Back before the keto days i would be the one ordering the fully loaded nachos (an order for 3-4) to myself as well as a bunch of other junk foods that would hit the spot. I’ve had to turn down invitations and events that require me to go out and in turn my social life has suffered. At first i felt like this was needed in order to get my life back on track but now i feel like i have the discipline but i wanted to hear your tips & secrets you have to eating out. Any help would be appreciated ! Thank you !

I’ve had no trouble with either some variation on eggs and meat and veggies, or a hearty salad. Sampler more upscale places tend to have fewer options, but any place with a decent sized menu has been ok.

not sure if this is a legit post due to the advertisement but…

go-tos:
burger or bacon cheese burger no bun, side of broccoli with butter
taco salad no shell or chips (usually hold the onions and totato with a spicy ranch type dressing)
chicken wings with standard buffalo sauce (i try not to overdo this because of the type of oils used)
steak with butter

and something new I just considered…can you make me the loaded nachos without the chips and beans please? give me a fork!

Answer - Pork Rinds😀
Just pile what ever Keto foods on top
Eat at home. * make xtra *
Then relax.
Save lots $ :ok_hand:

OR/THEN
Just out and enjoy ur social life?
If ur still hungry, snack on whatever Veges and Keto dip ur go to place may have on hand…( xtra tip- have some back up Keto snecks in ur car too )
Grab a water, some type of iced or hot tea, a coffee. Perhaps some type of alcohol Keto drink if you desire

THEN
say some kind social good byes…or just leave like I do :joy:

Get home and…* have the xtra above leftovers…*

THEN
Get up early, use the saved $…do some Keto grocery shopping!!

No need to suffer😃
It’s a lifestyle choice
Enjoy

Good luck

My go tos for dining out:

  • Cobb salad
  • Greek salad
  • salmon or steak or grilled chicken thigh not breaded
  • burger with no bun
  • eat only toppings off pizza (if desperate)
    My tips for social life
  • bring olive, cheese, salami, cucumber platter to the gathering
  • mix vodka with la croix or other soda water for a classy Keto safe cocktail
  • if you don’t make a public display at not eating carbs most people won’t notice
  • tell people you just ate a huge meal and aren’t hungry
  • eat a huge Keto meal before going out so you won’t be hungry and you won’t be lying. :)

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #6

Most diners serve breakfast foods all day, so I often get steak and eggs with bacon and sausage on the side instead of toast and potatoes. There’s a fast-food chain in my area that does nothing but burgers and French fries, and they are quite happy to wrap your burger and toppings in iceberg lettuce if you don’t want the bun. I haven’t yet braced our favorite pizza parlor about a Fathead crust, but I know some places can do it. When we order in pizza, I just eat the cheese and toppings and save the crusts as a treat for my pet rats.
