Hi all,

need help, what fruits is okay to eat. I’ve been on keto for about a month now, there has been a good weight loss so far, down 10lbs, recently stopped it for about a week due to the flu (not the keto flu. LOL) back on track now but i miss eating fruits and fresh squeeze orange juice. can you guys recommend what fruits i can eat. I don’t miss bread, sweets pasta none of those things only fruits.

Generally, in limited quantities, as fruit carbs can pile quickly, you want low carb fruits.
Berries: Blue, Rasp, Black, Straw.
Melon: Water, Canteloupe, Honeydew
Tropical: Starfruit
Stone: portions of peaches, very small quantities of cherries.

I stick to berries. Black berries, raspberries, strawberries & blue berries are my main go to.

I usually use them to put on top of some jello and whipped cream or in a keto friendly mixed drink.

Make sure you weigh your portions - they can add up very quickly. I have blueberry plants in the yard, and it’s a real trial to limit the berries in order to keep carbs reasonable. I have to give up almost all other carbs to enjoy them, and even then I’m usually over ‘20’. Usually? no, always.

I won’t remove the plants, but it’s a relief when the picking season is over.

Just wait a day and the birds will pick them all for you no problem

They are in an enclosure, but still open on the sides so pollinators can get in… the plants are still flowering, so it’s going to be a long season, which is usually welcome. Some birds can get in (and out) however, and at the moment they are leaving about half the ripe fruits. More than enough, or should I say ‘too many’. There are about 50 - 60 plants in there. :scream_cat:

I love blueberries almost as much as well-cooked meat fat.

I whipped up some heavy cream and added Erythritol and had an ounce of raspberries on the side. Was a delicious treat!

Would be even better with some sugar free jello in there too

I wish I could! But all the sugar free jello at the stores near me is made with maltodextrin which has a glycemic index the same as regular sugar. :frowning:

I weigh out 50g of strawberries (about 3!), chop them up into tiny bits & mix them in to whipped cream- lovely! They go further that way, & it feels like a real treat, I never would’ve dreamed of being able to eat cream before keto! & my sweet tooth is going so I don’t need any sweetener in it, the strawberries are sweet enough…

Have you tried snack pack sf pudding it uses R4 starch
99.9% of the ingredients are artificial :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
Who knew indigestible goop could taste so good :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The foods I eat I’m surprised I’ve survived this long :innocent:

Toss in a couple tbsp of 100% unsweetened cocoa powder. Sweetener. Whip the cream until mousse-y. Fridge overnight. Sliced strawberries and whipped cream on top. Amazing.

If I’m very careful the rest of the day, I can occasionally eat about 1/4 grapefruit.
