What to eat to prevent vomiting when taking medicine?

I started a ketogenic lifestyle nearly three years ago. Fortunately I don’t get sick often, but I am battling a sinus infection with antibiotics that make me vomit. Lots of drugs—any type of narcotic and most antibiotics—make me vomit, so it’s a lifelong issue. The only thing that helps me is to take 1/2 Zofran (prescription anti-nausea meds that you can take 20 minutes before taking a nauseating medication) and eating 1/2 cup white rice that has been cooked in coconut oil and broth. (I do refrigerate it and reheat so that it is a resistant starch.). But I have another week to go ok these antibiotics, and I don’t want to eat carbs twice daily. I tried a small amount of eating meat and fat before taking the antibiotic, and I threw up for an hour. Does anyone with the same queasy condition have a Keto alternative that works for you to keep your meds down?

I’m really sorry that you are having this issue.

Sinus infections are not nice. Had a couple myself so can empathise.

I’m wondering if the vomiting is your body saying that it really doesn’t want the antibiotics. I guess its your N=1.
Is the carbs (or hopefully a better solution, which unfortunately I don’t have) worth the health benefits of the antibiotics, especially when you factor in the disruption to the gut bacteria diversity?
Anyway, I hope you recover quickly.

I wonder if something like just a few tablespoons of unsweetened coconut cream would work before each dose, it’s dairy free so shouldn’t interfere with the antibiotics working and it’s very mild flavor almost a plain yogurt like consistency…
