Exactly what I do ! Just abt to start up again and think I will re- enter this forum today as a newbie once again since I’ve been gone 2 months or so.
I pretty much aim for >= 1.0 ketones and don’t feel I’m “there” until it’s there. Funny stuff though - I love to measure stuff and this is a real incentive for me haha. Seems the pm measures are the only ones that will go high on a regular basis. Not high in am for me and always down after workouts even if high just before. They say you’ve burned them off by then. Not sure abt the mornings, why they’re low then.
I look at blood ketones, how I feel and weight is on target (not going up anyhow)

Hard to believe, but my idea of cheating these days is having cheese or mushrooms. Snacking on keto foods feels like cheating if I’m not on my 2 meal a day IF schedule
When I serve myself - 100%
But family sometime serves me something made with love. -50%
Example : mom made an apple crisp. Confused I was not eating wheat it had oats and sugar and apples. Sigh, sweet mom. Didn’t fall out of ketosis
Ex: host made soup, not understanding her “kale” noodles were rice mostly, sigh
Ex: sister served me chili con carne, but it had a boatload of beans. She didn’t understand the starch connection, sigh. Sweet folks all.
