What is too high for Ketone reading, especially in the morning

#1

Hey all, so today is day 28 for me and this past week my blood ketone readings have stayed well into nutritional ketosis range. Yay! In the mornings the reading has been around 1.1. This morning I tested upon waking as usual (though about an hour earlier than usual as I was up early) and the reading was 3.4.

Is this too high especially for an early morning level?
Should I be concerned? Just keep watching the next few days? Not sure if this is ok or not.

Thanks for the help!

There is no too high unless you’re diabetic and also have high blood sugar

24 mmol

I was under the impression Ketoacidosis usually starts around 10 mmol, so that would be too high. It’s also really hard to achieve, if not impossible, unless you have some other rare health issues (type 1 diabetic?).

3.4 is fine. As I recall the “nutritional Ketosis” range is between 0.5 and 5 mmol, after which point some benefits may tapper off but I’m not really sure on that point.
