Dare to try zero veggies, it’s liberating!

(Blyss (Old @Charmaine)) #22

Eggs, cheese, meat, :bacon:, butter, heavy cream, tea, coffee, hot sauce, spices, :bacon:, butter, cheese, and eggs.:joy::joy::joy:

(Blyss (Old @Charmaine)) #23

I think I’m going to try it later in January.

(Blyss (Old @Charmaine)) #24

After getting some salted butter to keep at work, I’ve decided to start buying more salted butter. That was such a game changer!

(Amanda Jones) #25

Sometimes I freak myself out when I’m in the store because I feel like I have next to no food. Like, bacon, butter, and spinach and that’s it. Then I realize I’m keto now and I eat less than half what I ate before! :joy:

(Jason Webb) #26

The usual suspects:

Bacon
Butter
Eggs
Cabbage
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Spinach
Bone in skin on chicken thighs
Meat of the week( whatever’s on sale)

Occasional treats:

Almonds or almond butter
85% to 100% dark chocolate
HWC to make Keto ice cream.

(darlee44) #27

I make my own bone broth! The pre-mades that I’ve tasted fail in comparison to mine!! Yum

I’ll look at Kroger. I never shop there so I haven’t looked. Thanks Julie!

#33

Grassfed steaks and ground beef
Pastured chicken thighs with skin and bones, and some weeks I’ll roast a whole chicken or turkey to carve from throughout week.
Wild salmon
Kerrygold butter (unsalted)
Organic veggies: spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, crimini mushrooms, cucumbers, romaine and/or red leaf lettuce, celery, green and red peppers, sometimes kale
Pastured eggs
And when I’m running out of bacon fat, I’ll either make bacon or a pork belly, since I like to use the rendered fat for cooking but try not to eat those two items so much anymore as I don’t need as much fat as I used to.
Onions, shallots, and fresh herbs as needed for recipes but not every week.
Heavy cream now and then but I don’t do well with it so use it as a treat in sauces.
Taza 87% dark chocolate. One small bar lasts me over a month or two since I only have an ounce as a treat now and then.
Olive oil and coconut oil when I run out. Same for balsamic vinegar (which I use sparingly due to bit of sugar in it.)

(Sondra Rose) #34

Grass fed steaks and burgers
Pastured eggs
Cheese of many kinds, esp goat Gouda and bleu.
Bacon
Sausage or Brats
Butter
Heavy cream
Leg of lamb
Organic Chicken wings
Canned salmon and sardines
Pastured Chicken, lamb, or pork livers and other organ meats when available.
Pate
Sour cream
Cottage cheese
Bones for broth
Dark chocolate

We use mostly bacon fat to cook with and render our own lard. Get tallow from bone broth.

(Meeping up the Science!) #35

One of my best coffee hacks I got from Alton Brown: add a large pinch of kosher salt to the French press. It greatly improves flavor, too, even the cheaper whole bean grinds.

(Julie Pegler) #36

sure! at our Kroger its in the fancy cheese section by the deli, not by the butter. Go figure.

(Jason Barbier) #37
  • Bacon
  • Butter
  • Cream Cheese
  • Sliced Cheese of the week
  • Shredded Cheese of the Week
  • Pepperoni
  • Meat selection (usually Beef or Chicken)
  • Selection of veggies
  • Salt and Pepper (I use a lot of this)
  • Heavy Cream
  • Meat for home made jerky (I dont include it in the meat selection because its usually a different type of meat and I have the butcher slice it for me so it is about 1 - 1.5 cm thick)

This weeks Special stuff since it is the holidays and I wanted to try something:

  • Raw Cocao chips (For making chocolate)
  • Cocao butter (for making chocolate)

Im still working out replacing some of the homemade sauces I used to do like Barbecue sauce.
