Up until now have just been using sea salt from the store. But I have heard that the ancient sea salts are best. What is everyone here using? About to order… Need suggestions.
What is everyone's favorite salt?
I just use pink Himalayan salt.
I have it pre-ground for my shaker at home just to save time, but I keep it in rock form at work to suck on through the day.
It comes in crystals typically. You have to grind it over your food like table salt. But pre ground comes already ground so it can be used in shakers and it’s easy to measure with measuring spoons.
I bought Kirkland Signature from Costco for the pre ground. The rock one I just got at my local grocery store. It came in a grinder jar and I had to pop the grinder top off it so I can use them as crystals to suck.
I buy Redmond salt from amazon as my everyday salt, but I also have Celtic sea salt and pink Himalayan salt (from Costco )
Looks like I am going to have to join Costco again. LeAnn talks about some delicious keto stuff there. The bacon wrapped burgers… And off the subject, how do you do the @Anniegirl9 thing? Sorry, newbie here.
Oh, that’s how… Duh!!! Thought some cut and paste magic was involved.
Kosher for flavor , Himalayan pink salt for health!
Sea salt for steak!
I use Pink Himalayan, Celtic grey, and Lo-Salt too… Lo-Salt goes in my coffees for potassium, the other two i mix together and use on food as well as taking a capsule every morning.
Going forward I think i’ll just get a really good quality sea salt though.
I use Pink Himalayan as well as “Baleine Essentielle”, which is 50% sea salt combined with 50% sea minerals. Contains 50% less sodium and has a very high potassium content. It seems to give me that extra boost I need when fasting. The ratio of 50/50 is great and I don’t need any supplements for magnesium and potassium that way.
I use Maldon Sea Salt flakes (Good quality English salt from the south coast) for meat and Himilayan pink salt (in a grinder) for electrolyte drinks, fish and salads.
Redmond sea salt here, same as @Baytowvin. I heard of it on a 2ketodudes podcast.
I love pretty much all salt, always have. There’s probably 6-7 different kinds of salt in my house. The ones I use daily are Redmonds, kosher and a citron flavored flake one. My iodized table salt I use to clean my cast iron skillet because it’s basically useless otherwise, and I quit purchasing Pink Himalayan because I started sucking on the crystals only to discover numerous pieces of what appeared to be clear plastic! Now, this was supposed to be put in a grinder, not eaten straight up, so actually I would have never known I was grinding plastic into my food. I won’t ever purchase it again.
I have quite the collection… favourites are Maldon sea salt, as well as their smoked salt variety. I have some French truffle salt that is delicious, but my current find is Sriracha Salt.
