In one of the recent 2 Keto Dudes episodes, I heard Richard mention that he had started adding a bit of glycine to his coffee; my question what is a serving? Is it okay, just to put a pinch under your tongue? The glycine that I orders says that a serving is 1000 mg, but I really have no idea what that amounts to. Any one know what a serving is? Thank you in advance!
What is a serving of glycine?
Just be careful. It’s an isolated amino acid, there aren’t any rules about this stuff.
I just started it, I’m doing about a teaspoon, which should work out to around 5 grams. I think that’s the amount Richard said he’s doing.
Chris Master John Just had a podcast on it here. http://thedailylipid.libsyn.com/why-you-need-glycine-a-panel-discussion
There are different suggestion here on amount along with when to take it.
From the research they state here it is safe as long as you stay under half a pound a serving LOL.
Some say this is a good substitute for a sweetener but i found it horrific.
It does have a weird aftertaste. I think it tastes similar to erythritol. Listening to the podcast episode on glycine right now. Thank you for linking that!
I’ve got the jug of it right here. I’m intrigued about the ability of it to aid glycogen repletion over sleep, as my workouts are rather glycolytic and I have decent sleep hygiene according to Samsung Health, the Fit2 watch and SleepIQ with the Sleep Number bed.
I’ve taken a Tsp the past few days with a meal, no noticeable effect, but haven’t had a workout. So I’m hoping that the glycogen stores are building back up. I think I can take a class tonight, so we’ll see if I can maintain beast mode in sparring longer than a couple rounds.
