What I'm learning about myself through fasting

This sir, is indeed the plan. And it won’t be a problem to stay with it at all. Reason I know this is because it didn’t take me much to switch over to being LCHF initially. Actually, I watched the show ‘The Magic Pill’ on Netflix on May 25th, 2018, and started Keto the next day and never looked back. - After watching this show, I realized I was already doing just about everything they were mentioning, and to be honest, all I did was simply cut out the occasional Soda (Coke Zero was all a drank for this) the rest of the time I was drinking water, tea or coffee. Other then this, I cut out using Equal, which I used one packet in my tea’s or coffee. - I never really liked breads, sugar, starchy foods such as Potatoes, Noodles/Pasta’s, etc. so this wasn’t something I had to give up. I found that I was probably 90 Keto already, with just a few tweaks needed. And this was a welcomed surprise.

And as I said my eating habits were also closer to what works better for LCHF, I just never knew this before, so it really does work for me with doing Keto. As far as Fasting, I’ve also found that I really enjoy it, and going 5 days (a self imposed limit I had set for myself even before trying my first one) but since I started fasting, I’m actually finding that I have to force myself not to do it so much at times. It actually works and fits into my work schedule nicely, so end up fasting most weeks now. Plus, Autophagy is always nice to achieve so hoping this works as well as everything I’ve researched about it. And I only water fast, so this is also useful and actually I find I like getting away from all flavors in general. And foods taste even better after a Fast.

Also glad to hear you and your wife started LCHF years ago. Like most others here have mentioned, I too wish I had learned about LCHF years ago. I know it would have helped, as it does now, but more-so for my wife who has been dealing with some medical issues as well as some pain issues related back to an injury she sustained back over 20 years ago. She has been doing Keto for around 4 months now, has lost over 50 lbs, and seems to be doing a lot better too. Some of chronic pain she was dealing with has either lightened up or is no longer prevalent as it was before switching over. So she is also enjoying this WOE/WOL, along with my son. So nope, we don’t plan on changing and will be keeping this lifestyle around for good.

Cheers…

Wow, you said it perfectly. I struggle and struggle with that desire to eat and so often the desire wins. I can stay away from food for a period of time but as soon as I start eating I just don’t stop.
