What if?

What if …
There was a huge solar flare, and you only had one more day left. What would you choose to do? And what would you choose to eat?
This is just for fun. I heard this question asked on a Fast Keto podcast, I think.

If I could, I would gather my family. I would choose time to be with them, someplace beautiful.

Sorry to say I would not be eating a steak. I would be eating my favorite carby junk.
Cheetos
Flourless chocolate tort
Reeses peanut butter cups
Salt and vinegar chips
Crab dipped in lemon butter (ok, keto)

When she asked this question I thought, clearly … I am not keto in my heart. Clearly, I would still rather eat carbs.

Hi Karen,
A familiar face/name. I’m glad to see you’re still here.
I also would be with my family. If I could magically pic anywhere I wanted to be it would be a tough call as I think we all would have different locales that we’d want to see or visit. As for food, there’s a place I know that makes the best fruit tarts. I’d like some of those, or maybe cheesecake or strawberry shortcake. Oh lordy, I don’t think I could pick, LOL.

(Karen) #3

OK, I would be above timberline in Colorado with alpine flowers

Hi Karen, a massive solar flare must mean really hot, so I’d take my family to the coast and sit in the cold North Sea and eat fish and chips and drink the bottle of pink Laurent Perrier champagne my son bought me for my last birthday. I’ve been waiting for an occasion to drink it!

Watching the sunset. Sounds beautiful! Fish and chips with malt vinegar, Yum!

(squirrel-kissing paper tamer) #6

I would go hiking in some awesome wildlife sanctuary with my son, then we’d get Indian food for lunch, then go swimming, then snuggle together for a funny movie in the comfiest clothing and all the delicious snacks in the world. We’d fall asleep after a sugar crash during the second movie and would never see it coming.

I would gather as many family and friends as could come to our place in Kentucky and have a ton of grills set up. Lots of cooking, lots of beer and wine, homemade brandies too. Volleyball, cornhole, cards, kayaking, maybe boating depending on what everyone brings. As an adoptee with a very dysfunctional adoptive family, I can think of nothing better than to be surrounded by a large number of people who consider themselves extended family. We could count the hummingbirds, hoot back at the owls, watch the sunset, and listen to the party flotilla. Ya know, this sounds like what we’re planning for next year anyway :ok_hand:

My wife and I watching the moon rise. Fingers crossed for it being full.

:smile::sunglasses: Sounds about right.

I’d go skydiving. I’m not afraid of heights but the idea of hitting the ground at terminal velocity does petrify me. I’d like to conquer this fear… or die trying.

Afterward, I’d have Wagyu steak and crab legs dipped in melted butter in front of a fire fueled by every note of US currency I own.

(Karen) #10

Big or little fire :joy::rofl::joy:

I plan to tandem when I weigh less.

(Carl Keller) #11

Big enough to cook the Wagyu.

(Ellen) #12

Do it. I hate heights but would love to do a skydive again, it’s a weird mix of oh F I’m going to die & euphoria.

(John) #13

So the world is going to end in one day, all life wiped out, and we all know about it 24 hours in advance?

That’s not going to be a fun time, I don’t think, no matter what foods you have sitting around.

(Ellen) #14

With my closest friends, wouldn’t mind where (their place, Puglia, SE Asia) a variety of good food (I’d maybe indulge in some good home made pasta or the noodles in pho or laksa) and good wine. Would be happy being with them even if no food.

(Karen) #15

Remember this is just for fun. Try to ignore the screaming and bad behavior that might actually occur.

(Karen) #16

I think this is something that is universally normal. We all want to be with our family and friends

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #17

I’d curl up with a good book, my rats, and a plateful of bacon. We’d all die happy! :rat::rat::bacon::bacon:

(Karen) #18

Aren’t rats smart! We had mice as pets. They were fun to watch but I think the males were pretty stinky. Is that true of rats? I’m fascinated that you would choose bacon. I’m clearly still a carboholic. Bacon is nice, but I would still choose chips.

#19

prolly shoot up lsd and eat pizza.

(Karen) #20

Holy guacamole! What a thought :joy::rofl::joy:
