What do we think about this article?
Well said!
Sounds like the âI know nothing about any of this so I cherry-picked the worst possible juvenile explanations of things described totally wrong so I could get paid my $20 for thisâ kind of article.
Total f***ing shit! âNough said!
Disclaimer: only made it as far as the sentence âitâs not a palatable dietâ.
Exactly right, Brian. Itâs just clickbait, even under the guise of Popular Science. Welcome to the new world. I think the author is fresh out of college and doing whatever she can to make a buck. Hey, most of us have to work, but this really was a lame effort.
one sentence wrap-up:
âSo maybe not being in ketosis isnât so bad after allânow just cut back on the saturated fats.â
Once again, we the jury find this article to be a load of
It is sooooo one-sided and uninformed that I feel there must be an ulterior motive for writing it.
Iâm guessing thereâs more than one motive. Additionally I submit that if money is not the item at the top of the list, it factors into it. Too many internet journalists ⌠not enough real news ⌠so they have to fabricate a lot of it. It wouldnât surprise me if a lot of these people wrote stuff that they KNEW was total crap for the many benefits that come from internet controversy.
Itâs funny that it happened to be in my news feed this morning. Couldnât help but read this BS! Oops, posted this under show me the science. I didnât realize it was already posted!
I got on the forum today SPECIFICALLY to ge thoughts on this article. I just laughed when I saw it here. Still, I donât think Iâm educated enough to give a stunning science backed rebuttal. Although, Keto not being palatable? LMAO!
Hatchet job, beneath the dignity of a journal with science in the name. The dietitian is certainly a fake. The characterizations of keto are off-handed personal attacks designed to start an argument, not a conversation. The person is probably a west coast whole-foods-plant-based person who is frustrated that itâs star may be falling because of the new keto kid on the block. I try to listen to them but they are all politics and no science and they donât have much to say about the things that concern me.
Hehe⌠I got told this the other day, by the Keto Police
I actually bumped into a fellow Ketoer - not in real life, but on a thyroid forum.
She asked what my keto diet looked like and I explained. (I thought she was just curious.)
But NUP - turns out sheâs the Keto Police and tells me Iâm not in ketosis, cos she knows best and she gets to decide whoâs in ketosis and not.
Honestly!
Youâd think bumping into a fellow Ketoer would be a nice thing, huh? All âOMG how cool, I keto too!!â
Instead BAM - get told youâre doing it ALL WRONG
Please donât tell her about these forums! We are so lucky to have so few trolls . . .
Way ahead of ya!
Iâd not have given her this forumâs details if sheâd paid me!
Who needs the likes of her hanging out here!!!
Typical click bait BS. It really pisses me off because people point at it and say see, I told you. As they munch their DIABEETUS causing snacks. Oh well KCKO everyone.
Odd â It seems that Popular Science is acting as the attack dog for the mainstream nutrition orthodoxy.
They have at least 2 other anti-Keto articles, all based on the same misrepresentations.
https://www.popsci.com/keto-flu
https://www.popsci.com/keto-fat-weight-loss-healthy
So, they now have 3 anti-Keto articles, and theyâve not referenced a single authority in the field.
It is surprising Dave, but I think they are just going for page views and clicks. Forbes is that way too now, and who knows how many other heretofore more-respected entities?
Regarding the last line of the article and the vigitable fiber necessary for the health of the colon as describe by the article author.
My IBS never been better without any fibers. Actually fibers sandpaper my colon and cause me pain in my colon.
I am not sure about this fiber stuff which is a classic medical advice by most doctors where it originated. But I know it is not correct at least for me.
Again the author seems to lack experience and getting the article material from classical medicine textbooks.
Oh you! Iâll bet you also believe that sugar is unhealthy and that saturated fat doesnât cause diabetes or heart disease. Just listen to your government and do as youâre told. And stay away from that salt shakerâI saw you! [/s]
