What did you take a photo of on your walk today? (feat. CHUNK)

Visited our friends’ bookstore in Belmont, MA yesterday.

Beautiful flower and love the slippers!

That really does live up to its name! I’d love to scavenge in there for some to use in art work.

Lol. Looks like he enjoys that mastiff wiggle. My family had a bearded collie who used to do much the same thing!

I wish a few more places would have menus like that.

Had textiles class this morning and spotted these on way home. I’m thinking of using lichens as the inspiration for my ‘final piece’ so I snapped a few.

Aaah, the hometown of They Might Be Giants.

(Little Miss Scare-All) #1578

Also Brooklyn!

Build a little birdhouse in your soul.

My sister’s Boston Terrier also does this, it always reminds me of the Snoopy dance.

True story. 1986, my brother and I lived in Chelsea, Manhattan. We lived downstairs from a musician and Bar/None label partner with whom we were friends. We were having lunch at Mary-Anns (then on 17th and 8th Ave) when Glenn Morrow approached us to say; “You guys gotta meet these two guys, fresh from Lowell, MA. You’ll love their music." He was right.

Yes, I met the Johns just before their first album release. I’ve been a fan since.

:metal: how cool is that story? The Johns. Gotta love it. Right place, right time!

How was Chelsea in '86? Now it’s very affluent.

Thanks.

We ended up with 5 chickens - 2 Welsummers and 3 Gold Lace Wyandottes.

The Welsummers are a cold-hardy Dutch breed and I named them Gracie and Greta.

The Gold Lace Wyandottes have the black feathers edged in gold and I named them Clara, Chloe and Claudia.

They don’t know their names yet but I will keep calling them by name and eventually their little bird brains may learn them lol.

Bloody awesome. $180 / month rent, (really) and ConEd had “forgotten” about the building, so FREE UTILITIES. The building we were in has long been demolished and replaced with something I could never dream of affording. Doesn’t matter, as much as I loved NYC in the 80s-90s I love NC so much better now.

(Christy) #1584

Thank you

It’s an absolute dream!!! I usually round up 10 times more than I can actually fit in my truck :flushed: Then it takes me an extra hour to pick my favorites lol

(Liz ) #1585

Fun fact: my dad used to work with Flansburgh’s dad

(Empress of the Unexpected) #1586

So who needs to purchase cat toys?? Everyone’s hopping around here!

(Little Miss Scare-All) #1587

Yeah, like me, right the heck into another room to solicit the favor of a kind smasher.

I have two rules. 1) If I am outdoors in nature where the bugs call home, I may run like a little bitch, but I will not kill them. 2) If I am indoors where I call home and a bug is seen, these are unwelcomed intruders and must die. There will be no escorting them outdoors to be let loose. If they got in once, they can get in again. I run a Zero Tolerance Policy here.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #1588

For me, it depends on the number of legs. If eight, I scream for my husband. Hoppers don’t bug me. The cat may have escorted it out. Not sure.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #1589

Will vacuum thoroughly tomorrow.

(Little Miss Scare-All) #1590

This does make a difference. Centipedes are my biggest fear. Those suckers are little foretastes of hell. Any creature that can run in a seamless acute angle is of the devil.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #1591

Never seen one, that I know of. But years ago we found a baby scorpion in the bathroom. Ok, that creeped me out. Only one. Only once. But we are entering the season of the cat catching lizards. Poor things.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #1592

We have a cat door. And one time, another cat showed up.:scream::scream:

(Little Miss Scare-All) #1593

Just cropping that pic gave me goosebumps.

Lmao! That’s funny. It just waltzed inside?
