What did you take a photo of on your walk today? (feat. CHUNK)

@daddyoh @OldDoug it really was a beautiful day, powdery snow, -2 degrees C, so little skiers I felt like we were alone on the mountain…

Every morning I buy sausages for breakfast and give the buns to the birds before entering my building. They wait for my car now. My walk into work…

(Running from stupidity) #1048

Mate of mine has just headed to Japan for two weeks of snowboarding…

He can walk, close enough.

Bird poisoner. #antiketo

I also give them birdseed and sunflower seeds and bring fruit for the squirrels. They’re carbavores, it’s a subspecies of city bird.

Wow, now that’s a wonderful ski trip

Round two of snow hit the Seattle area today, still falling now. I cleared my driveway and it’s already full of snow again (but at least I won’t have as much to shift as my neighbours tomorrow!)

Here’s Bobo, one of my dogs, enjoying the snow in the garden.

Her face says, “Seriously! How do we get this every day from now on?”

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #1052

It’s hilarious how much dogs love snow, even breeds that weren’t bred for it. The first time my Schipperke saw snow she looked at me like, this stuff is amazing! But when my sister’s huskie first saw snow… I have never seen such joy before or since.

(Allie) #1053

Chunk loves the snow too, actually all cold weather. I think it’s because he gets hot so easily normally and in cold weather he can gallop and play without overheating.

My “walk” was to my bedroom window, then to my back porch. The snow accumulation in these pics is my back yard, where there’s no protection from the wind. The front yard is totally protected from the wind and there’s over a foot of accumulation there. We live on an island that is roughly the geographic size of Manhattan. To see this much snow accumulate is a pretty rare. Like, every 20 years rare. Sure am glad I cleared my grocery store out of Kerrygold, HWC and eggs.

The little structure is the hobbit house my husband had built for the kids when they were little.

I made a whole Facebook group about the weird interesting things we see on walks outside :grinning:

Went on a hike with some co-workers. A short almost 8 miles round trip

The water was flowing. It was a beautiful day for a hike in the desert.

:sunglasses: Beautiful, Hapygirl - a special place on earth. I think there’s nothing like the Sonoran Desert. :slightly_smiling_face:

(Way) back in 1981 I spent some time in southern Arizona, and being from the much different weather and geography of the eastern U.S., it was quite a treat. When night comes, it falls as though possessed of actual weight.

(Running from stupidity) #1058

yes I’m out of likes again. stupid software. Get on it, Darren

(Eric - The patient needs to be patient!) #1059

That is awesome. Beautiful snow but I’m sure it is cold.

(GINA ) #1060

I didn’t go today, and this happened on my usual weekend route. PNG_3272

Oh no!

#1062

Went for a hike in an area badly damaged by bushfire about 10 years ago - very much on the mend

Spotted this sweet little escapee on the way home

(Jane) #1063

That makes me sad.

Did I mention I got my private pilot’s license in 1982 and flew my own Cessna 172 for many years before giving it up?

(Doug) #1064

Safi, what a glorious day. :slightly_smiling_face:

Have to say also - Whole Lotta Rosie The Riveter - everytime, I hear Bon Scott (R.I.P., man, will be 40 years next year) or Brian Johnson howling out the vocals, while the band powers along behind, relentlessly.

#1065

Was magic

I was beginning to fear I was the only AC/DC fan on the block
Been tripping down memory lane on Youtube this week - AC/DC was on high rotation.
