(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #566

It’s important to keep track of these things.

(Cindy) #567

The neighbor brought gifts. A bag of Tootsie Rolls for hubby (he doesn’t even like them, so why?) and then popcorn for me. Have to admit…I love popcorn. She knows my favorite kind so what I’m NOT eating tonight is this:

(Empress of the Unexpected) #568

Damned See’s Chocolates. Tore open the package, then decided not to. Why do neighbors do these things?

(Running from stupidity) #569

Well, you can’t regift those, now!

(Empress of the Unexpected) #570

I thought about that!

(Empress of the Unexpected) #571

But the smell was amazing. And it goes back to my childhood. Those cool rectangular pieces. The nuts and chocolate. Sees Candy has not changed a bit! Never liked the nuts and fruit.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #572

And my husband is doing a porn show with the chocolate. In front of me. I refuse.

#573

Um, can I come over to your place? This seems to align with my interests…

(Mike W.) #574

I did it! I avoided ALL of that! I’m pretty proud of myself.

#575

Got quite a bit of sweets at the office. Re-gifted EVERYTHING!

Went to the movies with my family yesterday. 2 strict keto, one easing into it and one carbage diet. One small bag of popcorn for the non-keto among us and the one easing into keto ate some but I think I gave her the disapproving eye. The two strict ketos among us were not tempted.

Qw used to eat a lot of popcorn at the movies. I am not tempted in the least now. My other ketro strict says something like a few seconds on the lips for a lifetime of being under doctors care.

(Janelle) #577

Hubby said something about popcorn the last time we went and I said, “Corn is for cows” - which is something I read here or elsewhere.

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #578

Years ago a friend pointed out that farmers use corn to fatten pigs. Even in my college nutrition class they taught us corn was basically zero nutrition, in spite of the nutrients in the corn because it is practically undigestable. But I still thought of corn, especially popcorn as a neutral. Neither good nor bad. I also knew that South American people didn’t get pellagra because they treat their corn with lime to make the nutrients bioavailable. But all of these facts floating around in my head I still didn’t see popcorn as a problem. I thought: tortillas (not chips) good, fresh corn baddish, popcorn neutral.

Live and learn or live and die!

I once heard this joke…

1st person: “I’m on a diet, I don’t put butter on my corn.”
2nd person: “Neither do pigs.”

Those are deadly!

(Doug) #582

(((Shudder))) To think of the things I did in the 1970s, 80s and 90s…

#583

HA!

I did this once with my son, about 3 or 4 years ago. Had to stop at 8!

(((Shudder))) is right!

Today begins our healthy lifestyle challenge at work. So we were served this

It was actually for January birthdays but I found it a little ironic.

I am at 26 hours of a unplanned fast…and this little devil is hanging out on my desk. I am not even tempted tho.
