What carbs to count

(Penny) #1

OK. So I didn’t think I had to count carbs in vegies like cauliflower or in things like avocados or nuts.
I went to MyFitnessPal and put everything I ate today, and now I am up to 26 carbs!!! Can someone please tell me what I should be counting? THanks

All carbs. I don’t know if MyFitnessPal deducts the fiber and show you net carbs, but a general rule held by many is to stay under 20 net carbs.

Track every single thing you put in your mouth, at least until you have a very good idea of where carbs are.

Everything. Also be aware that MFP is an unreliable tool due to its data collection policies (i.e. anyone can add anything no matter how incorrect).

All carbs minus fiber. And maybe 50% of any sugar alcohol, but don’t eat sugar alcohol.

It’s as reliable as you make it. Double check the label of your food with the entry you’re using.

Or be smart and use a reliable tool. There’s a few to choose from that don’t let any old yahoo edit the database.

Gotcha. Hostile for no reason. AND mute.
