Hi all, I’m new to this plan but years ago lost 60 pounds on atkins. Yeah gained back. Boo. But I’m 3 weeks in and lost 10 lbs. Now just trying to be patient while waiting for more loss. Grr.
What is the sweetener best for us? I’ve got eryth… (sp) and some trivia. I want to have them in my herb tea but is it going to be insulin pushing?
What are your favorite tools, trackers or apps?
Whether erythritol will spike your insulin is impossible to say. You’ll have to experiment to find out.
As for Truvia, be very careful. Some of the stuff they sell is blended with sucrose or with maltodextrin. Double check the list of ingredients before using. The version that is blended with erythritol is fine, however.
Like @PaulL said, there’s no way to determine how sweeteners impact you asked from experimenting. Having said that, for me, erythritol and Stevia don’t have an adverse impact on my BG. Regarding trackers, my favorite is the Keto Diet app
Keto.app - Keto Diet Tracker by Mikhail Platonov
My tools are a Ftbit for tracking activity.
App for fasting is Vora
I like Swerve and liquid stevia, but also think erythritol works better in some things. I am not diabetic, so I don’t track to see if my BS goes up or not. My husband who is does and he seems to be ok so far with these as well.
I get my A1C checked at dr. office 2x a year and we get the home kit for testing @each 3 months.
Trendweight.com for tracking weight trends.
I’m a long time member of MyFitnessPal, I don’t track all my food anymore, but did for over 3 yrs. on MFP.
I use a breathalyzer, the elcheapo kind, for tracking ketones when I want to do that.
