A marriage licence and a ceremony doesn’t seem to stop a lot of people from dumping…
I cry when I see that someone has spent 10’s of thousands of dollars on a wedding garments, rings and ceremonys… More often than not, they go deep in debt, and don’t manage to pay it off before the divorce…
It is not the same. One is meaningless puffs of air and the other has legal bite. You shake up because YOU DO NOT want to legal bite if you decide to dump the other person if they because too much of a hassle, you meet someone better looking, you get too old, you get sick, you get too skinny (this is a keto forum after all), or you talk too much.
Again, the difference is the legal bite. One you mean what you say; the other, you have your fingers crossed behind your back.

. Did the very first humans sign legal documents?? Nope. Marriage is cool, all happy for people that want that. But why be SO bitter and judgemental of people are are not married. Also, my Mother " Married" a horrible guy that acted all nice and tricked her. Then cos of a signed document she was trapped with him as his carer for 12 years. She FINALLY left him and guess what, she STILL got nothing. He left her penniless. Why are you so rude!!! I can cook fine. I could make it more exciting if I wished but I’ve been sick, bland suits me fine and anyway what is bland?? It’s food, it is sustenance. What’s your damn problem. I think your very rude and bitter.

You and me both. Shake up has no legal bite. But that does not stop some married folks. Breaks my heart too.
I got married in a church with about 10 friends in attendance. Hardly spent any money at all. I have noticed that those with the big production weddings typically get divorced. I do do believe it is because they are putting the emphasis on narcissism and not the marriage. Geez Louise! Put the money on that production wedding on a down payment on a house!
Here in my state (Nevada), you can get a divorce by simply going down to the County and signing a paper and turning over about 700 U$D. But most spend about 45,000 U$D each on their divorce. Ya. Get your day in court no matter what it costs. Revenge can be costly. As a divorce attorney I use to work for said, first they can’t live with each other, then they treat each other like dogs. How very sad.
Marriage is life long giving and sacrifice for the other. It is a form of martyrdom. If you are not up to it, stay away. In my church, it is referred to as the coronation ceremony of marriage-- the crown of martyrdom. It dates back to the first century.
Shake up, you can just dump the other person with no legal ramifications to your lies.
