What a nightmare!

Well, what a funny experience. Last night I was eating keto in my dream. I had ordered a chicken, bacon, cheese and hamburger no-bun meal from an unnamed fast food restaurant. I was feeling so happy until some hard bread sticks appeared on my plate and… I.ate.them. Nooo! The panic was real!

In other news, I am another 6lb down. That’s 20lb in 3 weeks. I almost can’t believe this delicious woe works!

Love this forum and am thankful for everything I am learning.

I think carb dreams are common the first few weeks. I had a similar dream about Subway macadamia nut cookies a couple weeks into keto!

Congratulations on your success!

It might continue further than the first few weeks?

Not two weeks ago, I dreamt that I was in the kitchen at the stove making something, when my wife walked passed me and said here hun, and put a bite of something she was eating in my mouth. Well, after chewing and then swallowing it, I suddenly turned around to her pissed off and said ‘Wait! You just broke my fast!’ … Apparently I was fasting, and she screwed it all up!

hahaha. The crazy dreams are for real! I haven’t had any food related ones, but omg, some weird and sometimes stressful stuff

My husband did make a joke about stuffing a breadstick in my wide open (ie snoring) mouth while I was asleep. :confounded:

I have taboo dreams all the time; some like you described but my main taboo dream is that I’m smoking pot - I’m in the Army so that would be a career-ender lol! But the carb dreams are real - I’m past the 6 month mark and I still have them

I gave smoking dreams too, not pot but cigarettes. I quit over 13 years ago but every once in a while I dream I’ve decided to just have one!

I wonder if the weird dreams are the subconscious’ way of categorising behaviours that we want vs don’t want. Perhaps the negative reaction is a reconfirmation of what we have decided consciously.

My nightmare was ordering a soda water and when I drank it I realised it was lemonade…woke up mortified. This was months ago and I still take a hesitant sip of my soda water initially

I still dream about deep fried corn bread and corn tortillas. I’m 2.25 years in

When I first started, I had panicky dreams about cheating accidentally. I think my brain is on board now though. I don’t get them anymore.

Merely your subconcious, we act it out during dreams.
You’re simply afraid of ruining your progress.
I crashed my car two weeks ago and got a hot new one, the night before last I had the most vivid dream that someone side swiped me, I woke up and knew the dream wasn’t real, but still had to go check on my car, lol.

Thank God it was only a dream!!!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #12

It’s a common phenomenon. Recovering addicts and alcoholics can have dreams in which they get drunk or high. One friend of mine was so convinced it was real that it took her several minutes to really wake up and realize it was only a dream—at first she thought she was going to have to get sober all over again!

When I gave up cigarettes, I had the same type of dreams. Just goes to show how addictive sugar really is!

It’s nice to know that there are other people having dreams like this. I feel like I’ve been having more dreams than ever for the past (almost) two weeks. A few dreams have been about food, but most of them are unrelated and totally wild.
