Went to the doctor..a bit sceptical

Yes - be sceptical. In many ways, doctors are more dangerous than “some random person”, because the doctors opinions, while just as ignorant and misguided, carry weight with us…

You do what feels good. If you dont eat another gram of carbohydrate for the rest of your life, (live long), you will be the better for it. Any person, doctor or otherwise, that says that carbs are essential, is stupid/ ignorant/ dangerous - run away from them.

The wonderful thing about keto: You Can Always Stop.

I know you’re about to try an expensive and challenging process and you want to give yourself the best chance you can, so I can imagine it’s probably harder to go against your Dr’s advice than it would normally be, but I’d still agree with misterbutters - smile, nod, and keto on.

  • if your IVF issue has anything to do with PCOS, you might find this interesting.

I began hearing about this woe from 2 different doctors. They both highly recommend it.

Great read. Shared it with my adult kids.

I had to change my doctor due to insurance changes. I was nervous, but it turns out, I didn’t need to be. She was totally on board with me doing keto, was very pleased with my weight loss and thrilled that my blood pressure was so good, she took me off of blood pressure meds. There are good, and well informed doctors out there.

There is an early experiment (pre ethics rules) he mentioned in here. In the experiment they demonstrated that ketosis protects against coma when blood sugar was artificially driven extremely low.

I’m sure your MD would love a refresher on how the Krebs Cycle works too.

What would she say about epileptics controlling their siezures with low carb diets? It’s been around for decades and I am not aware of any long-term negative effects of low carb eating.
