Well THAT was a mistake

Doubletree hotels published their official recipe for the large yummy cookies they bake and you get on arrival… Pre-keto I ate my share.

So the (adult) kids wanted to try and it is Easter dinner. So I followed the recipe exactly and I can report they were perfect. Looked and tasted exactly like the rel thing and most of the family agreed they were better than my old recipe…

SO I had to try one. Then three more.

The only plus is that they polished off the batch before I could make it five. Or six.

Just don’t make that recipe my friends.

Meh, Easter for me is always a Carb Day. I had 1/4 of a chocolate turtle ice cream cake, two large chocolate candy bars and a panfull of fried potatoes. And yes, I am currently in a Cut, I’ve lost seven pounds in the last five weeks. No mistake about it.

Well you guys make me feel better. I had maybe 2-3 keto chocolate bars, and raspberries with sweeteners and whipped cream. A LOT of whipped cream. Then I really crashed and had some REAL chocolate even if it was the dark 80% kind. I was on a roll. But even if things stay keto- the carbs can get way above the limit of 20g/day. But now that my fridge is broken the stress is just getting very irritating. Its tough to be self isolating for weeks and weeks and then to also be faced with a fridge full of butter and cream and cheese and all sorts of good foods that I will have to throw out within 72 hours. This pandemic sucks SO BAD.

I saw that recipe online as well and wondered if it really was like the real thing.

God bless; I consider only three cookies pretty good. I certainly could eat an entire batch, and then move on to something else. I am so afraid of going off plan now because of my past relationship with food. It really scares me. Sometimes I think about ice cream, but when I do, I think about eating a couple pints of premium ice cream. I can’t just have a little of something, plus I’m afraid of moving on to other treats I haven’t had in over a year. Instead, I’ll have several pieces of bacon or deviled eggs and that helps.

Hopefully tomorrow Marianne.Today is a holiday here too. I have been eating up on meats- but I really crave sweet right now. I use it to calm myself.

And I too am afraid to fall off the wagon and go back to sugar addiction. I really donor realise how much I used sweets to self soothe. Even fake sweets.

Shredding fat while maintaining muscle. Typically high protein, lower fat and overall calories. Like a less drastic PSMF.

So sorry about your fridge. Hope you can find someone who will fix that for you fast.

Do you have any coolers you can toss some of the food stuffs in to prolong their life? Most gas stations are open and they usually have ice

Cheese can last a lot longer than 72 hrs. as will butter. Eggs can be boiled up and use mayo to make deviled eggs or egg salad.

Everyone needs to remember that no matter what you eat, it will not effect the current situation. If you have to put up that picture you never want to show anyone and put it in a central spot in the kitchen to remind yourself yo are not going back there just because you have to stay home. Oh and find something for your hands to do besides going towards your mouth :slight_smile:

Thx YOU! You have helped me here more than once! :grinning: I have been teetering on the verge of doing some stupid things. I haven been half way there. Today I ate a bag of half frozen/half soggy strawberries just so I wouldn’t have to throw them away. I don’t think my carbs have been under 20 for a few days- but they may not have been over 50 either. Any way you look at it- not good for losing weight. Maybe I should get out an unflattering picture to post on the fridge like you say - once it gets repaired.

It is, the downside is it makes some people uncontrollably hungry, that’s never happened to me but you also cant do it for too long or you screw up your metabolism. But if you keep it to 12 weeks or less (IMO) you’re good. A real PSMF shouldn’t be done longer than a month.

Currently losing fat. I’m long past the point when I automatically lose fat just because I eat carbs at Keto levels. I have to go to OMAD and make sure.my caloric amounts result in me being hungry by the time I eat. I can usually lose between 10-20 pounds before my metabolism slows and I stop losing weight. Then, I have to go into at least a Month or two of Maintenance before things adjust and I can repeat it.
