Weird weigh in

(Briton) #1

So I gained 3+ lbs in 2 days. Nothing changed with the gym or macros but did decrease my insulin 10 units due to lows. I feel thinner. Any thoughts? Please tell me a woosh is coming!

To quote Jimmy Moore… “The scale is a lying liar who lies”.

I weigh myself every day (don’t judge me!) in the name of science, and I see occasional wild fluctuations such as you’ve observed. Over-all, on a rolling month by month basis, my weight loss is still steadily reducing at roughly the same rate every month. I don’t get freaked out when it goes up, but just KCKO. I’m not afraid of the scale, nor do I take it very seriously as an indicator of success. Are my pants getting looser? yes. Then I’m being successful.

Lowering your insulin due to hypos cannot hurt! Internal progress is obviously being made.

Large scale swings in short time are usually water retention/loss for any of several reasons, very few of which are ever worrying.

Congratulations on decreasing your insulin!! HUGE NSV I’d say!

Thanks. Only 20 units till I’m off it completely. But it’s taken 8 months to get this far. I will certainly celebrate when I can kick it.

Well done you!
