Weird side effects

#1

Hello,
I’ve started keto and i’m afraid of my symptoms that are: a lot acne, dry skin, flatulence, sleepiness and the worst is stomach ache after meal.
I have normal weight and i’ve started keto because of reactive hypoglycemia.
65-75% fat
15-20% protein
7-10% carbs

I’m intolerante for egg protein so i eat a lot of yolks.
Should i be worry or just my hormones go crazy with such amount of fat ?

How long have you been eating keto? If you were pretty high carb, you might want to make a more gradual change (both decreasing carbs & increasing fat) to avoid gastric upsets. Could you give an example of your daily menu?

It’s my third day on keto

2 Meal:
150g salmon
250ml coconut milk
30g sesame
1 tomato

3 meal:
5 fired yolks with ghee
50g sausage
50g meats
1 green pepper and 1/2 yellow pepper fried with olive oil

There’s a fair bit of carbs in that lot. Best when starting out to get it under 20g.

Just the blackberries there is nearly half that (8.5g).

  1. You can’t seriously put dry skin & acne on a diet change you’ve made for 3 days! Any kind of major lifestyle change could cause some temporary skin eruptions, but dry skin isn’t that quick to come or go in my experience.

  2. You don’t have to eat eggs (even yolks) with this way of eating; it looks as if you avoid dairy (cows only, or all milk products?) as well. There are plenty of sources for fat & protein still available to you. How did you prepare your tofu? If you can fry or sauté your proteins & veggies that will help a lot - if you have avocado or coconut oil available, they are excellent options especially for high heat (where olive oil is NOT recommended), as are lard (pork fat) and tallow (beef fat), depending on your lifestyle.

  3. Most people actually see skin & hair improvements on keto; I would say be patient; make sure you keep hydrated & your electrolytes in balance (watch for keto flu symptoms and take extra salt, magnesium, &/or potassium if you feel you might need them).

I live in the “imperial measurement” world, so I couldn’t really add up your carbs without a lot of conversion, but I will say that looks like a lot of blackberries and the coconut milk may be high-carb as well. Count carefully at first; depletion of your body’s glycogen stores is important to training your body to use fat for fuel. I think your RH will respond well to this diet if you are patient & let your body adjust to the changes.
