Weird habits

Does anybody else sit and admire their weight loss chart or their list of numbers from the scale the way you would admire a beautiful painting or a picture of your child?

Or is that just me?

I’ve only lost about 16 pounds in the last 7 weeks so it’s not phenomenal but it still makes me happy to look at it. Down is better than up they say, just like out is better than in.

Me! I have a chart that has a goal line of two pounds per week, an actual line, and a trend line. The trend line is my favorite. I’m nerdy that way. That’s why keto has been my favorite - lots of nerdy statistics to read.

I spend some time every morning with my cuppa & my spreadsheets… daily weight logging, and various other stuff. Ive been at the same weight since Feb, but Lotsa NSVs that are not on my graphs…
I do data, and I dont get discouraged by random weight readings… YMMV

Nothing wrong with being proud of positive change made through your own actions. Positive reinforcement will also make it much more likely your behaviours will remain with you into the future.

Why do people usually hate ‘Dieting?’ it’s because they find it a form of punishment and it has negative connotations.

If you find solace in a keto diet and reinforce the positive outcomes then it’s much more likely to outweigh the old life style you/I were living.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does these things!!! OCD tendencies! Lol

OCD is Orthogonally Changed Diet, right?
:grinning:

I make strange dishes, does that count?

I love linear goals. Whether it’s pounds off or dollars up or check marks on a list, seeing something on paper is proof positive that I’ve accomplished something.

Wow! I have never known so many people that do the same “weird” things I do!!! And here I thought I was the weird one! I think “they” are the weird ones! Right??

IKR?!

Filler…

I do not but I love that you do, although I might get addicted to the data on my newly acquired fitbit.

If I knew how to do a chart, I would have already done one. LOL. I do keep a journal and have entered my weight, lbs lost and the week number into it. I have another tab where I log a short synopsis of my week. I also have a tab where I log my short term goals.

One is calculating each 10% loss goal until my target. Another was how many lbs I wanted to lose before vacation. Now I have one for my 1 year ketoversary.

I can’t tell you how many times I have calculated my average weight loss, monthly weight loss, weekly weight loss, etc. I love going over the numbers even though the averages really don’t change much. The log does help me see trends though. Does any of this count as weird?
