Weight gain over a week

(Will Butler) #1

Hi all

I had had amazing results for 60 days after starting Keto. Trying to KCKO but for the last week I have been gaining weight. Same gym habits same food that have that have taken me from 287-244. I IF most days eating from 4-8 with a bulletproof in the am. Now up to 251 in about a weeks time. Does this just happen or do I need to try something?

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #2

It may just be a random fluctuation—perhaps you just happen to be retaining water at the moment—but on the other hand, if you want to try doing something, you could start by checking over your food for hidden carbohydrate. Some bacons have added sugar, for example, and you have to read the ingredients carefully to spot it. Some artificial sweeteners are blended with sugar but are cagey about it. You get the idea. Also, a product that was safe before might have been reformulated, so it’s always worth double-checking.

Another thing to consider is whether you’re getting enough calories. If your carb level is okay, then try increasing your fat consumption and see if that helps.

Another thing to try is extended fasting, about which plenty has been posted on these forums.

Good luck!

Did you add something or make a change. Either way its impossible for fat gain in that short of time. Im pretty sure it’s water or your were dehydrated Ann’s became hydrated. Mine goes up and down on a small scale but overall still goes down. Two steps forward and one step back.

I believe I got dehydrated. Quite a bit of physical labor that week as well along side working out. Back down to 247 but not dropping very fast. Jeans never got snug.
