Weighing Vegetables

How do you all weigh your vegetables? I plan to eat some whole green beans tomorrow from one of those Birdseye steamer bags. The nutrition one serving calls for a 1 cup measure. However, I hate measuring some foods by measuring cups. The MFP food search does have an ounce option, but can I weigh this type of food by ounces, instead of cups? Thanks!

It should say 1C (and then some weight in grams)

I went back, and it does say 82 g, so I probably should weigh in grams?

Yeah, it’s the most accurate way to do it

Thanks! Sometimes I’m not 100% sure on the best and exact way to weigh certain foods.

Yes, use a gram scale and weigh it. 1 cup could be pretty much any weight depending on packing. Measuring foods by volume doesn’t work.

That makes sense! I was weighing my frozen veg, like broccoli, cauliflower, etc with my measuing cup, but then I was like, “this doesn’t fell right, like I’m not getting the exact weight.” That’s why I wasn’t sure about the type of weighing. I totally get what you are saying.

Oh, my. I just logged in and noticed I typed a response to you early this morning and I never pressed reply. Sorry about that. Didn’t want you to think I was ignoring your reply to me.
