Wearable Glucose Meter

#1

Does anyone have a link to where I can buy a wearable meter for real-time glucose readings.

I saw a bio hacker being interviewed and talking about an implant like patch that gave him an instant read out on his phone.

Looks good and would be interested in the ease with of use to monitor exactly how and what foods affect my BSL

The two I see most used in the diabetes community are Abbots Freestyle Libre and the Dexcom G 4 5 or 6 (The six is the newest version) without knowing where you are I have no idea what will be available but google those and you should find them. Word of warning… they are not cheap to run.

Thanks Mark👌

Another few words of warning… for some people they work really well but others have reported very “out of whack” readings from them when tested against a regular blood sugar meter.
There are also quite a few problems with sensors falling off.
They also measure interstitial fluid rather than blood glucose itself which is supposed to lag 15 minutes behind blood sugar levels

I just saw an ad for something like this (if I’m understanding you correctly), but at the end of the ad it said “available by prescription.”

You’ll need to get a doctor’s prescription though.

They are very expensive, including the little pads that you put on your arm. To replace them in Australia is like $200 a month or something along those lines.

Rumour has it is that Apple are working on non-invasive blood glucose measurement for the Apple Watch. Apparently, it’s some time off but when it arrives it will be a game-changer.
