Want some advice re activated exogenous ketones

(Laura Matthews) #1

I’m really wanting advice from those who have used exogenous ketones, activated or not.

I’m not new to keto, but have taken a break and now ready to start again, I use activated exogenous ketones because I have M.E. As well as other conditions and it helps my brain and energy levels.

My question is, After 18 months, I’ve been off keto for two weeks, should I wait to take the exogenous ketones once my body has cleared of excess carbs or just do it from day one. Don’t want to waste 72 hours of exo if there’s no benefit in the first 72 hours. I’ve been off exo for the two weeks.

If the ketones benefit you with improved function and feel good take a dose now and see if it helps. I know that people on the autism spectrum and with epilepsy benefit from ketones without necessarily being in ketosis. The modern “MCT Diet” has pretty much replaced the traditional Keto Diet for Epilepsy since it’s much easier for families and young children to comply with. My son is on the spectrum and a ketogenic diet. The MCT seems to help him. :cowboy_hat_face:
