Vitamin D

(ianrobo) #1

We all know just how important this is and give me natural every day and obviously on the bike this is easier but I am in the UK !!

So in the winter when only skin exposed can be patches of cheeks, just how much of that do I need if we presume clear skies and sun all the time ?

Here we can not get enough so anyone suggest the best supplement for this as I hear so many are dodgy ?

I’ve been using NOW D-3 5,000 IU daily for a number of years now.

I’ve been very happy with it. I’m sick a lot less frequently ever since starting it.

Vitamin d works well in conjunction with k2 you can find them in a combined supplement,as well as from food

My GP used to give me a script for cholecalciferol (vit D3) to take to a compounding chemist.

I was getting 200,000iu every 3 months for $10-15.

Nature Made works for me. I tested low and took 5000 iu/day for 3 months; retested and was at the upper end of range. Now I’m taking 2000 iu/day for maintenance.
