Dr John Campbell on YouTube talking about Vitamin D lessening the risk of prediabetics going into full Type 2 diabetes, anyone else watch it ? He’s been talking a lot about vitamin D deficiency for the last couple of years but he’s never mentioned any low carb higher fat or keto approaches to diabetes. Last video I saw him doing he just recommended the usual " balanced diet" and exercise more approach.
Just curious ?
Vitamin D and Dr John Campbell
Vitamin D is one of the chemicals made from cholesterol. It and Vitamin K are supposed to play a role in helping calcium get into bone. That’s all I know.
What is definitely true is that a ketogenic diet can not only lessen the risk of prediabetics going into full Type II diabetes, it is well-known to actually reverse Type II diabetes.
Nope. He has turned into a bit of a kook. Just watch some of his videos on COVID-19… Loves to misquote/misrepresent facts. Whilst, he is a doctor(nursing), he is not a medical doctor and yet still pretends that he is one. I believe he also claimed that it was Ivermectin that was responsible for the sudden decline in COVID-19 deaths in Japan. Except the Japanese never used ivermectin. I would not pay any attention to what he says.
Sometime in the last 2 years, he discovered that his viewership increased when he discussed or hinted at certain viewpoints. Then he started making most discussions about that to monetize it
Yes, to me he’s become a bit of a media tart. So who’s word do you trust ? Nobody’s ?
I’m still following the Ketogenic Forums because I tried Keto and it definitely worked for me.
I’m now very sceptical about any advice given and unless I can try it for myself I’m unlikely to follow it.
Sort of an aside, I guess, the latest studies show that increased supplemental vitamin d with or without calcium doesn’t do a thing for heart health. Another pill you can add to the list of useless expenses. Any benefit conferred apparently comes from self-produced D or diet. Should we extrapolate??
Since most of the best sources of D in the diet are keto-friendly, perhaps we can take comfort in our level of protection already, if we’re embracing non-researched hypotheses.
Very few. Dr. David Perlmutter (Neurology) is pretty good. Dr. Peter Attia is excellent, as he does not claim to know everything.
