Vitamin C extended - Carb/Vitamin C ratio to prevent scurvy? Natural vs synthetic Vitamin C?

An example of excipients and fillers. I never used to think about the ‘carriers’ of nutrients, but when looked into they may not be physiologically inert.

There’s stuff that. as you pointed out, is often sugar derived. But also plasticised cellulose and variations on starches. Some mineral carbonates. But I have not yet found any petrochemicals.

Would that happen if you consume virtually no oxalates though

Instead of adding excipients to my vitamin C I use ascorbic acid as the excipient for the DMSA capsules I make to treat my lead poisoning. Much better I think than glucose which is the excipient in Chemet the only prescription formulation of DMSA available in the US.

Will your Dad drink orange juice? If you put 2 or 3 grams of ascorbic acid in 1/2 cup of orange juice, add some water and sugar, it tastes good.

It would probably be a PhD dissertation length discussion about his neuroses where his digestive tract and diet are concerned. OJ would definitely be O U T.

I think he is trying baby food, actually. His doctor convinced him that puréed food is much easier to digest. Maybe there will be some measurable vitamin C in it.

On and interesting note: his blood test came back and everything looked good except low in iron and red blood cells, but not exceptionally low.

And where are the molecules required for the reactions derived from?

Does he have normal VItamin B12 and low iron and red blood cells?

Don’t know, yet. I’m just reporting on what he heard. I still need to see the results.
