Victory finally

It’s been a few days over 3 weeks for me since I’ve started back up keto and have not weighed myself since I started. Can’t say I have felt much different and was getting a bit down about not really seeing much progress, or so I thought. I bought a new scale yesterday cause I was weighing at my mom’s. I have lost 7lbs!!! My shorts are feeling loose and I’m pumped and ready to get rid of the other 15 lbs. Whohoo

That is super awesome, Jill. :+1:

Well done Jill.

Thank you everyone! SOME results were just what I needed to keep me going. :+1:

So, have a question… I had 2 eggs with 1/4 c of combined onions and red bell peppers with cheese and 4 pieces of bacon for breakfast. Plus whipping cream and butter in my coffee. So stuffed I couldn’t eat lunch, dinner I had a bacon wrapped boneless pork chop with cheese and 4 brussel sprouts cooked in the bacon fat. I just can’t seem to eat as much as I’m supposed to macro wise, I’m not counting, but did count yesterday and today to check where I am since I thought I was not making any progress. Everyone seems to say eat till satisfied, which I am, so I don’t see any problems, right?

But are we supposed to eat a certain amount? Some fast for days without any problem. You could even be eating nothing at all.

#8

Starving is a problem even if one is satiated… Overeating too even if one just satiates their hunger. So if these signs don’t work well for someone, it may be a problem.
Eating too little is a problem. Eating nothing is fine for a while. My body never handle the previous one well even if I am very satiated all the time. It backfires at some point. I rarely fast but that’s a different thing, our body works differently, it feels very different too - just not sustainable, of course, we must eat at some point.

If I notice a bad food intake, I change my food items or even add extra meals, snacks… I can change my calorie intake drastically while being perfectly satiated all day, it just requires different food choices, different timing… I am very used to eating without hunger and appetite and I need that often. But it’s mostly about the food, most of us have less and more satiating items, it’s easier to drink calories…

Hi Shinita, so another words, eat a cheese stick or two even if I’m not hungry. Or something like that. Lunch is not an option apparently, but then there goes my not counting macros out the window, I’ll be counting to assure I’m getting enough food in. I certainly don’t feel starving that’s for sure. I’ll try a little harder to eat more. Thanks

If you really eat too little, yes. It’s not always easy to say what is too little for someone and reading about your food, it’s good food and not super little, you feel right so maybe it works, I don’t know anything about your energy need and the calorie content of your food (and the macros)… I just can say for sure that there is a limit and it’s bad eating less than that, day after day.
You have little to lose so you can’t get a really big amount of energy from your fat reserves but where are the limits…? No one knows. There are a formula that totally fails in many cases, our woe surely matters a lot but personal differences exist too.
Losing weight too quickly shows you should eat more but the first time is misleading due to water weight loss. I lose that in the first 2 days but it’s longer for many people. And our weight fluctuates too. So it’s tricky.

I understand, it can be confusing that’s for sure. I am not an exerciser (weights and such) but I’m a wanna be. Still working up to getting the energy and motivation for it. I’m slowly coming around, I’m currently in NC, so hilly here, when I get further south where its flatter I want to start jogging, I’m a walker altho I haven’t been lately. Thanks again Shinita.

Hi Corals, I wish it were that simple

(Jill Cherni) #13

Hey corals, have you heard of Dr Robert Cywes? Wow, I’ve been YT binge watching him and am blown away with the simplicity of it all. Have changed to carnivore and feel amazing. So glad I found his channel. Your reply got me to thinking…IF is eating nothing at all. So what’s the problem, none at all. :+1::slightly_smiling_face:

I have just read his name elsewhere this morning! Small world! I’ll check him out.

A short story about feeling great: I was watching videos on Youtube and it suggested videos by two women who were raving about how wonderful they were on carnivore, ZC diet. It seems they farm the grass fed meat themselves, or something. A few videos later… they’re raving about how wonderful they are now, one of them finally got her periods back! By eating lots of carbs, including lots of fruit and honey!

As long as it works for us!..

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #15

Dr. Cywes is a bariatric surgeon in Florida, who discovered low-carb/keto and then moved to carnivore/ZC for health reasons. Puts most of his patients on a ketogenic diet before surgery, and a lot don’t need the surgery afterward. He is particularly insightful into how to deal with sugar/carb addiction. I was intrigued by a remark of his in a recent(ish) interview, in which he says the cravings are a lot less on a plant-free diet.

I’ve watched most of his videos, he’s very uncomplicated. Big on IF too. I’m doing so much better since learning from him. I eat when my body let’s me know it’s time, not by the clock. Just no worries whatsoever from watching has videos. Sooooo glad I did!
