Very warm after increased calorie intake

(Kathrine) #1

Hey everybody

After I upped my calories/fat and started to loose weight again I have noticed that I’m very hot? :open_mouth: Like there is a campfire inside my body?
I always have cold feeds but now they are literally burning

Any ideas what it could be?

I experienced the same thing early after fat adapting and concluded that now that the body is using fat for energy as a more efficient fuel like premium vs regular gasoline.

That’s how your body burns off extra calories.

Apparently, a trick they use in Switzerland with hikers is that when they get cold, they feed them fatty sausages. Five minutes, back to warm.

I’ve upped my cals and fat recently (Feldman protocol), and touched the wife in bed, who said I was roasting her.

I’ve been binge-listening to Dr Ben Bikman’s YouTube lectures (check out anything from Low Carb Down Under or Low Carb Breckenridge.) White fat us all about storing energy, but BROWN fat releases energy…usually in the form of heat. It’s a good thing!
I experienced this heat rise for maybe 6-8 months after going Keto. It happens less now (1.5 yrs in).

Have been having plenty of this myself - either from sufficient calories or specifically from increased coconut oils MCTs in my way of eating.

There are a few more threads about this topic if you search ‘thermal’ and ‘thermogenesis’. This warmth is different than actual ‘hot flashes’ - from what I read and hear.

It sure is wild to recompose the body elementally!

Here’s to real transformation and having one’s metabolic fire stoked!

In summer fortunately one can always hopefully get ahold of some coconut water, or avocado smoothies or rose water spritzer through it all.

Yep. My guess is stimulation of mitochondrial uncoupling. Ben Bikman’s lectures on this are the best. I get this heat too, usually at night right before a drop on the scale in the morning. Not whole body, like a fever or hot flash, just like areas of heat palpable through the skin. Amazing stuff. Agree @SlowBurnMary. :fire:

yep it’s not like hot flashes… But you can really feel it!

For sure!
