VAP and NMR blood test. Which one to get?

#1

Hello

A little about me first. I’m a 33 year old male.

I’ve been on Keto for about for about 4 months straight. Prior to that, I was on it for about 3-4 months before a 2 week vacation. So, in the last 8-9 months I’ve been off for a few weeks at most.

I do not count calories, but maintain a slow decrease in weight and have dropped almost 40 pounds overall. I was 225 (around Feb- March of 2018)and am now in the 185 range. I am 6 foot tall and would not consider myself over weight. I was simply not happy with my life style, how I felt, and reliance on food.

I find Keto to be very easy to follow and my wife does it along with me.

I had the typical lipid blood tests done in July of this year and my cholesterol numbers were not great.

I do not have a very good baseline to compare to as I did not do any blood tests prior to going Keto.

This is from about a year prior to the previous test with no Keto and just at random diet.

So, I’m having another check up here in a couple of weeks and was considering asking for a VAP or NMR blood tests.

What are the thoughts on the tests? My insurance will cover some of it and I am curious as to what the results would be. Is one test better than the other?

Sorry for the long post.
