I’m half way into my 10 day vacation and I think it’s going fairly well for staying Keto. Though I’m sure there’s been some sneaky carbs in the blue cheese dressing and hot wings, I think it’s minimal overall.
I’m sure I’m high on protein and low on fat. Kind of heard to add enough fat with all restaurant meals, and I know the suggestion will be to carry my own butter, oil or mayo, but one of my goals while on vacation is to also carry the smallest purse possible, so no room for such.
I’m getting a little tired of bunless bacon cheeseburgers. I did have an amazing ribeye last night, but they didn’t have real butter.
I’ve been sticking to TMAD most days, though I did have breakfast this morning. I’ve yet to find a place that does breakfast all days that serves omletes, and I’ve been craving one.
I’ve also been doing a little running still while on vacation. No long runs. I’m not going to give up 2+ hours per day of my vacation. But short runs to keep limber. Plus a 4 hour tour of Mammoth cave that kicked my ass. Wow, I thought I was in better shape.
Anyway, it’s not perfect Keto, but not not bad either. I haven’t been tracking anything. Just sticking to basics. Eggs, bacon, beef, cheese in most cases and only mustard as a condiment. Incidental veggies. And chicken wings with blue cheese the other day because I just couldn’t do a second cheese burger in one day. No real cheats, though I have no idea what places add to their seasonings, so I’m probably pushing my carb limits.
I do feel really bloated so I think I’m getting more sugar snuck in than I’d like.
