I’ve got this covered this year. Back in my younger days I could always get down to a decent weight by Summer, but the last decade has been a struggle. I lack focus every year and it’s late March or April before I finally figure out that I’ve ran out of time and try to lose what I can before it’s beach and pool time. This year I’m going to stay on track, get down to goal weight and keep it there. I’m tired of playing this same game every year. Anyone else have this struggle?
Vacation goals. Better start now
It always breaks my heart to see a bride to be in May post “I have to lose XX pounds in six weeks”. Your right, it doesn’t work that way, start now!
Yea I had to give up all the useless dieting nightmare ‘fixes’ and ‘fast promises’ cause heck they don’t work…I know, I tried them all LOL

What works for all of us. Stay on the healthy eating plan we chose and hold strong to it and let the lbs. drop as they will in their own time and let our body composition change to leaner/meaner as we hold plan. Time on plan is key. That is what works for all of us and yea I finally realized it Hold the course, good results are received!
When I started this, I was planning for my vacation 3 years out.
*edit: Actually I was not thinking about vacations, but birthdays. I wanted to be at goal weight by my birthday in 2020, and then maintain it for a full year after that, as my true goal.
Based on my track record I’d have to start two years before the event and even then it’s a crap shoot.

yea set a ‘diet goal’ for whatever and instantly everyone knows it ain’t gonna happen. I was the same, 2 yr start wouldn’t do it either for me HA
Good thing I’m a good sport because sometimes I choke on my coffee when someone rolls in and says, I just started keto and I’ve already lost 20 lbs this month!
Sadly, for the past ten+ years, I have been too much overweight to make anything less than a sizable weight loss make any discernible difference, so I didn’t even try.
In 2017, my husband and I bought a house with a pool - first time. That summer, I was very large and looked and felt terrible in a bathing suit. Started keto in Feb. 2019. By that summer, I had lost 40-45 lbs. I was able to wear cute suits and look good in them. I wasn’t embarrassed having friends over to swim and feeling self conscious about how I looked. Wonderful feeling.
I couldn’t get down to my “bikini body” all through my forties. After six months on keto I took that picture in my avatar. 2.5 years later I’m even ten pounds less and maintain without thought. Keto was such a game changer.
