I’m wondering about the impact stevia could be having on my insulin levels. I understand that just because there is no BG response this does not mean that it will not affect my insulin response. But if I have highish blood ketone readings (2.5) at the moment (nutritionally raised), does that infer that there is no insulin response when using this sweetener?
Using stevia but still having high ketone readings

If BG goes up, then you would assume there would be an insulin increase to the added carbs/glucose. However, if BG goes down (especially with no dietary carbs) then you can also assume there’s an insulin increase.
If Ketones and BG do nothing you are good to go. You have to check before and after. If your ketones were 5 and dropped to 2.5 then that’s bad of course. You can’t tell from one reading.

Thanks - my readings were fasted - in the morning, 12 hours after eating. I know each of us must do our own n=1 . I’ve taken many readings, am in maintenance, and have a bit of a sweet tooth so using stevia a little but I’m really hoping it’s not messing with me.
