(USA) Elevation Low Carb bars from Aldi - your opinions

#1

I like them. not quite sure if they effect keto negatively (appears no)

they do taste pretty good. anything more then 1 gives horrible farts. I assume due one of the sugar alcohols.

Missing the nutrition label (red flag 1)

Packaged food [read: ultra-processed and created in a factory with a specific taste that you’ll like] (red flag 2)

Causes horrible farts (flag caught fire, need new flag)

Check for Maltitol. It’s the devil. It raises blood sugar almost as much as table sugar.

Maltitol! FSCK those guys. how can they claim low net carb when maltitol is 75% sugar.
wtf I am angry now. and relieved that I will never buy this shit again

Maltitol is evil.

(Laurie) #6

Nutrition and ingredients label. Maltitol. Also glycerin, which I must avoid. All that just for 7 grams of protein?

“All that” indeed… :rage:

Like mayo and nut butters, snack bars are another item that’s so easy to make, there’s no reason to buy them pre-made. There are a plethora of recipes using various combinations of nuts, seeds, coconut, and cacao to cater to almost every palate. I make a pan sized batch, cut them into bars, and store them in the refrigerator in individual plastic baggies, so they’re ready to grab and go.
